I think Facebook has been sold!
Look at the favicon in the images below. This screenshot was taken a couple minutes ago while accessing Facebook and I wonder if they have finally accepted an offer from Yahoo!?

This also might explain the recent downtime and security issues they encountered!

Thing is Paul that we have no idea how long this may or may not have been going on for. The migration (if it’s true) could have been months in the making.

Looks like it’s been reverted back to the original Facebook icon Dave:

Looks like an intermittent issue. I get the normal icon in my IE7 browser. Could it be a broken proxy server perhaps?

@Max: I have no idea. Haven’t been on Yahoo! (apart from Flickr) for many months now. All I can tell you is what I saw. No idea if there is any truth but remember who pointed this out first if it turns out to be true

A claim to fame is as important as anything in life.
Well spotted. At least among my friends I’ll be the first to have known.
If it’s not true, well, I’ll just tell them to wait and see…

Could explain a lot. I’ve had no end of problems with Facebook lately… they’re still disabling my account for absolutely no reason even after sending them a whole load of emails asking why.

I’m also getting the old blue favicon when loading the page. Hmmm… searched digg for some possible news bout it, nothing turned up. Could something this big be hidden so well – if it is real?
Oh speaking about all the recent flaws on facebook, funny thing the timing of all these issues. Notice how defcon was held this weekend in Vegas…
